Hello everyone,

Wow - thank you for following my journey! I didn't read this thread until today.

My blog is quite a bit behind, so here is some real time route information:
I am in Haapsalu, Estonia and am trying to speed up my progress. I want to be in Poland the week of October 23rd. I know it will be cold and have picked up warmer clothes.

Why did I leave it so late in the year to tour the Baltic? I am not sure anymore!

Thank you to everyone who emailed me and offered me a place to stay.

Please let me know if you have any other feedback on my site or questions about my trip :)

Take care, dziękuję, and I hope we get to meet.

Amie

*edit* I will be going from Kaunas to Berlin this time (route tips are welcomed!) I might go through the south of Poland when the weather warms up next year.

Good! When will it begin to snow?

It seems like I am making a loop back to Amsterdam to hibernate for the winter. If I continue to travel frugally and wild camp / stay with hosts - I will be able to extend my trip and meander slowly through Europe next year on the way to Asia. (Hopefully by then I will have a better system for updating my site!)

It's been hard to move quickly because I have met such nice people and I want to see everything...

If you're prepared for the cold nights, you have plenty of time before it starts snowing, probably till late november.

@Amie, nice to see you here.

Do you have any plans for Poland, which we should know
about, while thinking about a route for you? Is there anything
beside 'from Kaunas to Berlin'? :)

Szy.

Also, vodka is much cheaper than in Iceland and much easier to find, so you can warm yourself up easily ;-)

Hello from Riga!

I am coming down with a cold that I got from my very nice and very sick host in Haapsalu :)

@Szy - I'm not sure if I should hug the coast or go through the middle around Warsaw. I don't really have anything to add. My plans are as vague as ever!

Thanks for all the nice words. I've been looking forward to Poland for a few countries now!

Take my word for it and avoid the coast unless you want to have a heavy wind against you. Of course deeper inland you will have that same western wind blow in your face but surely not as severe as far north ;)

Take care! :)

Hello from Vilnius!
I should be in Poland in just a few days. Still a bit fuzzy on my route...
