Hi! I'm planning on going mtb:ing in Poland next summer, and as I've never even been in the country I have no idea what so ever where I should go or if there even are any bike parks or downhills in Poland. So now I ask you guys, are there any bike parks where you can ride downhill and rent bikes in Poland, if so in what price range are the rentals and hotels in that area? All help is appreciated and sorry if my topic is in the wrong place, this was the closest what I was searching for, at least according to Google Translate
Regards, Patrik

Hi Patrik,
I think you chose good place for your topic. In the future there will be special place for english-speaking users on this forum. The best places for MTB riding are on the south of Poland - in the mountains
I live in Beskidy (Brenna City) and there are many routes here. It is better for you to take your mtb bike with you because it is hard to rent a good bike.
I can offer you a warmshower and place to sleep for few days - but the only condition is: I have to be at home
when you know your arrival date - write it here and I'm sure you will find many people who will offer you accomodation.

Wow, I'm overwhelmed by your kindness, I notice I'm not on a Finnish forum
The thing is though, I'm probably coming with a friend and we're only 16-17 so I'm sure you don't want us there
We were thinking about going to Åre, Sweden first but to rent DH bikes for four days costs 300€(!) so we reckoned Poland would be more reasonably priced and less crowded as well. It's also nice to visit new places and not go to the same places as before. The bicycle rental would be quite important though if we're going downhill, maybe we'll take our own bikes (I'm thinking about a Cannondale RZ One Twenty 2 or a Trek Fuel ex 8 and my friend has a Specialized Rockhopper Comp) but that forces us to stay on "easier" trails or tracks since they aren't really made for downhill. Thank you though for the offer
Do you know if Czech has any good bike parks? Not to rule out Poland but I'm just playing with the idea.
//Chmurat, seems like a good place, I presume there's more trails than that. The ski elevator would be quite nice yes
So seems like I'm heading towards Brenna and Szczyrk then
Is there an airport in Beskidy? And do the locals speak English well or are you the only ones?
I presume Swedish, German, French and Finnish won't help me there?

I do not know much about Czech routes. Chmurat wrote you about Skrzyczne mountain in Szczyrk - that is a good idea. Here you can watch movie from Blatnia mountain near Brenna - the city where I leave.

Our forum is about touring bikes and bike trips with careers (fully loaded). I suggest you to write on Enduro forum at
www.emtb.pl
- guys are very good in this (enduro, downhill etc.) - and I am sure they can write you much more about polish routes.

Uhhhm, some help please?
Yeah, I'd so like to visit Poland since I've been so often to the other downhill paradises, f.e. eight times to Switzerland and five to Austria (this'll be though first time I actually go with a bike instead of ski's
) but it's always nice to visit new places. But I'll test that emtb place, ask tips from my fathers new gf (she's Polish) and also ask some tips on this forum.

As far as I know.. One of the best DH track I know is a track from Góra Żar (Żar Mountain), in Międzybrodzie Bialskie, not far from Żywiec. There is even special train (every 30minutes or like).
It is quite simple and slow (opinion of, let say uhh, DH guy..), for trekking bike it was a bit too difficult (hops, stones, sand, blah).
The only disadvantage is lack of bike rental.. but who will try to downhill on rented bike?

As you can see, Padi, we are very reluctant to use rental bikes. Simply because in Poland the rental bikes used to be shabby old ones, city or at best trekking type. I do not know, what's the current situation, perhaps the bikes are now new and reliable but the opinion lasts
Anyway I reckon there is a very narrow (if any) market in Poland for rental DH bikes. I would assume such a low demand that the expected supply is zero. Therefore I'm affraid you will need to bring your own bike

Damn.. Well I'm in the market for a fullsuspension bike with 120/120 or 140/140 mm suspension. I could cycle the most of the routes with it but I think I'll skip the many metres drops then, if there are any. I'm just worried it might get damaged on the flight, I'll have to pack it extra good then. And it might get stolen too but I will have to rely on you Poles and I'm anyway most of the time on the bike so the risks would be quite small. Only thing we've decided yet is that we are visiting "Singltrek", looks awesome!
